Company Mission

Advocating 4 Kids provides advocacy services for children and youth who have physical, emotional, behavioral, and learning disabilities. We promote the belief that all children have the right to
educational services that meet their specific needs.
Our goal is to assist parents and caregivers in addressing their child's special educational needs and hold school accountable. At Advocating 4 Kids LLC, we believe that special education advocacy is a " FIGHT WORTH FIGHTING".
Credentials and Affiliations
Cheryl Poe is founder and owner of Advocating 4 Kids LLC, a Special Education Advocacy services. Mrs. Poe received a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) in Therapeutic Recreation from Virginia Wesleyan College and a Master of Arts degree (M.A) in Urban Education and Counseling from Norfolk State University.
She has completed 15 post graduate hours in Advanced Counseling from Old Dominion University. Ms. Poe has also completed a two year program on group psychotherapy from the National Group Psychotherapy Institute hosted by the Washington School of Psychiatry.
Currently, Mrs. Poe is a member of The Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates and serves on their Training Committee. She is aslo the current Chair for the National Association for the Education of African American Children with Learning Disabilities (NAEAACLD) Parent Network, and acted as past Co-President for The Learning Disabilities Council of Virginia out of Ricmond. Mrs. Poe one of 35 advocates in the nation who completed the Inaugural William & Mary Law School Institute of Special Education Advocacy sponsored by Pete and Pam Wright and the Parents Engaged for Learning Equality Clinic. Mrs. Poe also completed the Parent Education Advocacy Training ( PEATC) to become a PEACT trainer.
