Advocating 4 Kids provides advocacy services for children and youth who have physical, emotional, behavioral, and learning disabilities. We promote the belief that all children have the right to educational services that meet their specific needs. Our goal is to assist parents and caregivers in addressing their child's special educational needs and hold school accountable.

Cheryl Poe is founder and owner of Advocating 4 Kids, a Special Education Advocacy service. Mrs. Poe received a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) in Therapeutic Recreation from Virginia Wesleyan College and a Master of Arts degree (M.A) in Urban Education and Counseling from Norfolk State University. She has completed 15 post graduate hours in Advanced Counseling from Old Dominion University. Ms. Poe has also completed a two year program on group psychotherapy from the National Group Psychotherapy Institute hosted by the Washington School of Psychiatry. Mrs. Poe has served on the Virginia State NAACP Education committee and is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Group Psychotherapy society. Currently, Mrs. Poe is the Chair for the National Association for the Education of African American Children with Learning Disabilities (NAEAACLD) Parent Network, and a member of The Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates.
