Advocating 4 Kids is extremely effective and successful in helping parents obtain the following

SERVICES WE PROVIDE:

  • Obtain appropriate comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations in all areas suspected disability, as well as evaluations for related service to include Assistive Technology services, and device and Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) for behavior concerns.
  • Assist parents in getting Independent Educational Evaluations (at school’s expense) when they disagree with the district's evaluation of their child’s disability.
  • Get eligibility for a child's disability when a school has previously refused.
  • Get children Extended School Year services (ESY) during the school year and summer.
  • Assist in Manifestation Determination Reviews meetings.
  • Develop Individual Education Plans (IEP) that are measurable and specific to your child’s disability and specific needs.
  • Identify federal and state violations and file complaints to the appropriate agencies.
  • Ensure that parents are considered "Full Participates" as required under IDEA regulations in the special education process.
  • Address the needs of students who have behavioral problems.
  • Assist in due process and mediation proceedings.
  • Teach parents "Self-Advocacy" skills.
  • Identify and making referrals to appropriate community resources.

Documentation Review Services

We will review your child's records and make recommendations. This includes a one hour phone consultation.

Non- Retainer IEP or 504 Meeting Attendance Services

An Advocate will particpates in the meeting, advises the parent and makes recommendations about services. The meeting option is for parents who only need support for one or two meetings.
This meeting option fee is per hour, per meeting and a travel expense of $0.47 cents per mile. Advocacy services via phone are available for parents located outside of Virginia.

Comprehensive Services ( Our most popular services package)

Parents have access to an Advocate for a predetermined amount of time, which includes phone calls, emails, letter writing to schools on the parent's behalf, IEP, 504, and Behavioral Intervention Plan development, and communication with private therapy providers as needed. This service requires a retainer fee and an hourly fee for attendance at meetings.

Monthly Advocacy Services

For  a monthly rate, parents have access to an Advocate by phone and email at all times. There is an additional fee for the Advocate to attend meetings.
